Accounts: Users

Use Accounts > Users to create users, edit account details, assign roles and archive or restore accounts.

Users

Required permissions

You need:

  • Access Settings Module (settings-access)
  • Manage Users (settings-users)

To edit roles from the user list, you also need Manage Roles (settings-roles).

Open the users page

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Accounts.
  3. Select the Users tab.

Create a user

  1. Open Settings > Accounts > Users.
  2. Select New user.
  3. Fill in the user details.
  4. Choose the account and authentication options shown in the form.
  5. Assign one or more roles if the form offers role selection.
  6. Select Save or Create.
  7. Confirm that the user appears in the users list.

Edit a user

  1. Open Settings > Accounts > Users.
  2. Find the user in the list.
  3. Select the edit action for that user.
  4. Update the account details, personal details or role assignments.
  5. Select Save.

Change a user's roles

  1. Open Settings > Accounts > Users.
  2. Open the user you want to change.
  3. Add or remove roles in the roles section.
  4. Save the user.

Roles control what the user can see and do. Changes can affect access immediately after the next page load.

Archive a user

  1. Open Settings > Accounts > Users.
  2. Find the user in the active users list.
  3. Select the delete or archive action.
  4. Confirm the action.

Archived users are removed from the active list but can be reviewed from the archive tab.

Restore an archived user

  1. Open Settings > Accounts > Users.
  2. Select Archive.
  3. Find the archived user.
  4. Select Restore.
  5. Confirm that the user is back in the active users list.
