Vessel Locations

Vessel Locations define the onboard location treetree.

Locations are used by inventory, hospital equipment, maintenance parts and other workflows that need a physical location.place on board.

Opening Vessel Locations

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Selectand click Locations.

Create

Creating a top-level location

  1. Open Settings > Locations.
  2. Select

    Click New location.

  3. Enter the location name.

  4. name
  5. Enter the locationand code.
  6. Leave the parent empty or set it to the root option ifwhen the location should be at the top level.

  7. Save the location.

Create

Creating a sub-location

  1. Open Settings > Locations.

  2. Find the parent location in the tree.
  3. Use the add action on that parent location,parent, or selectclick New location and chooseselect the parent in the form.

  4. Enter the sub-location name and code.

Location codes

TheMarlinspike builds the full location code is built from the location and its parent structure.

Use short,short and consistent codescodes. soThis locations remain easy to read inkeeps inventory screens and exports.exports readable.

Edit

Editing a location

  1. Open Settings > Locations.
  2. Find the location in the tree.

  5. Change the name, code or parent location.

Delete

Deleting a location

  1. Open Settings > Locations.
  2. Find the location in the tree.

  5. Confirm the deletion.

Before deleting a location, check whether it is used by inventory, hospital equipment, maintenance parts or other records.
